Assess Future is a government registered 501(c)(3) non profit organization
In the summer of 2024, Access Future launched a groundbreaking six-week public health research workshop designed for high school students. This initiative aimed to deepen their understanding of menopause, hormonal changes, and their broader social implications. Over 40 high school students from a diverse array of schools across New York, North Carolina, and Florida participated in this program.
The workshop explored the complex effects of hormonal changes and menopause, integrating medical theory with discussions on family dynamics, social policies, and laws. It provided
students with a comprehensive view of how these issues intersect, especially within minority and low-income communities.
Many participants were from families where they will be the first generation to attend college, thanks to the advocacy and support of this program. The initiative seeks to demystify menopause among ethnic minorities, particularly among new immigrants and economically disadvantaged families. By improving understanding and communication around menopause, the program aims to enhance the quality of life for those experiencing it and to foster more
harmonious parent-child relationships.
Access Future hopes that by educating teenagers on these critical issues, the program will not only ease the challenges faced by those going through menopause but also contribute to a broader societal awareness and reduction of generational conflicts.
