AF Hosted Language Access Workshop to Promote Multilingual Communication in Public Education System

Introduction:

The workshops aimed to bridge communication gaps and to optimize access to resources for individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP). Additionally, the program offered an opportunity to train young volunteers, fostering their language skills and community engagement.

Objectives:

Empower NYC public school parents with limited English proficiency by improving their language skills and facilitating access to essential resources. Enhance the basic English skills of participants through specialized training sessions focused on the public-school education system. Engage young volunteers in language support initiatives while developing their communication and leadership abilities.

Workshop Structures:

The workshops and training series include three main aspects: Parent Live Workshops, Language Training Workshops, and Training Young Volunteers.
