We are thrilled to announce that Access Future Inc has been chosen to host a Tier 4 “Single Idea Generation Workshop” as part of The People's Money, New York City’s Citywide Participatory Budgeting initiative for 2024–2025. This workshop provides an exciting opportunity for our community to actively participate in shaping the future of our city.
Organized by the NYC Civic Engagement Commission (CEC), The People's Money is a groundbreaking initiative that empowers New Yorkers to have a direct say in how public funds are allocated. Through a process known as Participatory Budgeting, community members from across the city gather to brainstorm, propose, and vote on ideas that improve their neighborhoods and benefit the entire city.
Participatory Budgeting is a democratic process where community members decide how to spend part of a public budget. In New York City, the 2024–2025 Participatory Budgeting cycle offers a chance for residents to generate and vote on proposals that tackle local needs. Ideas can range from infrastructure improvements to social programs that strengthen the community.
The NYC Civic Engagement Commission leads this citywide initiative, ensuring that residents from all backgrounds have a platform to voice their opinions and directly influence city spending decisions. By connecting communities with resources and decision-making power, the CEC is fostering greater civic involvement.
Our Tier 4 Single Idea Generation Workshop will focus on gathering innovative ideas to address key issues within our community. We invite all residents to join the conversation and make your voices heard. This is a fantastic opportunity to collaborate, share your vision, and be a part of the city's participatory budgeting process.
